Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct laboratory diagnosis on animal samples, animal foods, and animal products.

2. Order and supervise the use of laboratory equipment and reagents

3. Ensure the safety of laboratory users and the security of biological materials and equipment

4. Implement laboratory quality and biosecurity management systems

5. Analyze animal feeds, supplements, pesticides, drugs, vaccines, ethno-veterinary products, and veterinary devices

6. Plan and conduct installation, maintenance, and servicing of laboratory equipment

7. Assist in research, development, and consultancy activities

8. Ensure safe disposal of laboratory waste, including samples and reagents

9. Train and direct laboratory technicians on proper lab practices

10. Supervise and mentor internship and field practical students

11. Oversee laboratory-based research activities

12. Maintain and supervise the laboratory systems database

13. Ensure the effective and efficient operation of laboratory facilities and equipment

14. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Technology, Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
